How to learn and improve?
I suck at brawlhalla, that is to be expected because I am relatively new to the game.
But I would like to ask the more experienced players on the forum for some advice and would like to hear from them how they improved.
I understand that a lot of it comes down to playing and letting your brain develop the feel and the muscle memory for the game. However more often than not I get frustrated because I have no idea what I did wrong and why I lost. I guess what I am asking is how and where to learn to understand the game.

Any hape would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the replay. It's painful, but it works. You will see what you tried to do, and how you failed.

Then, compare to your ennemy. If you stringed better but he won because you missed, work on spacing and priority, to know how to counter your ennemy and if you can hit him or not.
If you hit more consistently, but lost because he string more, learn how to capitalize from hits, how to follow-up.

And most importantly : play. You will notice tendencies, strings that are the same across players, reactions that are the same across player. And by learning all of these tendencies, you will learn how to beat them.

There is also many people on Discord willing to mentor.

There are many ways to learn the game. Personally I learned by experience.
Play all the legends you can and learn where their attacks land, then pick a main you love and practice with em.

Stay cool, and take a break if you start feeling down, depressed or frustrated. You cannot learn if you're not having fun.

L is your friend. When you get the hang of general timing, use it to dodge big stuff and stabbem in the back. practice on computers, they help you get to know knockout chains and combos, (and what move spams best XD ) honestly, the best practice is how to not fall off, accidents are a sure way to lose fast. When you get to the point that Hard computers are a piece of cake, then you're ready to start winning online
I still say there should be an insane mode...

Never let your opponent make you frantic. Slow down and read. If you're getting pummeled, slow down and read. Keep your marbles together. You'll learn a lot faster that way. Your opponents will basically teach you everything you need to know. But you have to read them.

spend time in training to learn combos first instead of blindly smashing buttons not knowing what to expect out of them. i may have 70 hours on brawl, but a solid 30 hours out of those 70 have been spent in training mode and im gold 4 atm
