To be honest that seems like it would be more of a chore and an inconvenience than anything, even if you opt into it. The size would be enormous. If you play a match that you really really want to keep, you should just record it right away.
Otherwise backup your Brawlhalla before each update.

So then I need to have someone else record for me, so I have to save the replay, send it to them, have them record, and then have to have them send it back ;(
Are you using OBS/OBS Studio?
I have the same issue, my computer is butt so my frames drop like crazy when recording. Minimizing my OBS while it's recording helps significantly.
I’ve managed to record a steady 720p with 60fps just fine with Fraps. You'll probably be like "why is this guy using Fraps in 2017" It's honestly the best light weight recording program that’s good for older CPU's. I've tried Bandicam, OBS, CAMStudio. the only downside is that it exports it as .avi which is like 30MB per second. I use Handbreak to compress it to .mp4 without losing quality. 700MB to 40MB. It's my most comfortable way so far with this hardware in my experience.
