I almost always type ggwp, which i believe shows my opponent i valued the game instead of pressing a single button to automate my response.
If they are spamming, id want to help them improve and talk about gameplay that isnt nessisarily relevant to their spamming. Why fight fire with fire when you can support active gameplay rather than using the same move again and again. Spamming doesnt make one a better player, right? You learn by trying new things and getting out of your comfort zone. So incentivize players by encouraging them with positive gsmeolay over taunting
The reason why people spam, is that they have not learned how to play yet.
Assuming players are spamming purposefully is not the way to go about it. Play like you normally do, show them the difference between spam and parry. Agressive and passive. etc.
Being toxic to these players only causes them to get frustrated, preventing them from learning. This leads to more spam.
Source: I'm getting back into the game, I'm spamming a little bit; Playing some bad parry as well. I'm just trying to get my head back into the game. I'm not trying to piss you off, and it pisses me off when players decide to do some wallcamping, or passive play in response.
I dont think you understand..
At a beginner level yes you are right spam will ALWAYS be present there. However, the very second they become aware that they are spammers and continue to spam is toxic.
Toxicity in any competitive game comes from the basic human drive to win, people dont care what they do or how they do it as long as they can get that " I Beat You " bragging rights. which leads to me to your next point. There is a difference between preventing someone from learning and someone who doesn't want to learn, doesn't matter how many tips you give them or how you teach them people will always use what works, and if spamming works THEY. WILL. SPAM.
So YES you can assume that spammers are puprosely spamming
Edit*
"Being toxic to these players only causes them to get frustrated, preventing them from learning. This leads to more spam."
Thats the point. Let them get frustrated and not want to learn. Let them spam harder so they can fail harder, which leads them to a very simple decision, either learn how to play, or quit. If they feel as tho they should be able to press one button over and over again or run around the map and throw stuff or even stick to the egde and reach diamond. Let em quit
Parry
And I think mail moon is right people just haven't learned to play yet. Here's me trying to be aggressive against spammers

They're both obviously new, it would be a strange thing to get tilted by.
Also typing 'ez' or getting salty in post game chat just makes you look weak, especially if people are legitimately doing it to troll you.
Again.... beginner spam is fine it will always exist...and if you would read you will see what im saying... salt those that know they are spamming and do it just because either to win or troll
The players that are drunk or high?
Or the kids overwhelmed with school.
And then you have the people who are slow learners. People who take breaks, etc.
Spam is a constant.
understandable
thats why you play games... not a reason to spam
thats why we ask for help or sparring partners.....
2. Sureis man.
3. Yeah no...some people play to just decompress and zone out. They aren't playing seriously and thus spam happens.
4. So you're saying that players who are still learning, should not play in public matches?
Think about #4 for a bit.
You want to know how you REALLY get people to stop spamming? Beat them. They'll stop when they it's proven ineffective. I'm guessing you just aren't very good at all and you don't know how to beat a spammer. Git gud.
