FIX the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FPS.... [SOLVED]
Im aware that the game itself should be locked at 60 fps so that all players are on equal grounds, but why should the menu be so slow and laggy even on a high-end PC....

First off...you got anything else running?
2nd. are you on windows 10? cuz windows 10 makes everything suck.
3rd is your pc ventilated well? Your pc ends up being underclocked when it hits higher temps, occassionally that can cause perm. dmg that can cause hangs and stuff like that.
4th. Don't worry, it's brawlhalla.

I have a brand new laptop, I run games like Witcher 3 on maximum settings, yet changing from hero to hero in brawlhalla drops my fps from 60 to 45 for a second... I don't get that, shouldn't it be smoother ?

well first of all you're in the menu.
Unless you actually see stutter you're fine.
2nd, the witcher is more taxing on your gpu than your cpu. Brawlhalla doesn't even touch your gpu, anything that would make your cpu hang will make brawlhalla hang.
3rd, windows 10 is very screwy, what os are you on man?
what programs are you running? etc.

Let's troubleshoot this ♥♥♥♥♥.

Windows 10 is irrelevant, I'm getting full 60fps on a potato that can't even run witcher 3 on lowest.

Heating is irrelevant, it barely uses any resources as is.

Other programs is the best bet since laptops are usually packed with useless applications that you'll never use and Brawlhalla is a borderless mode game so, my money is on something not playing well with the borderless.

windows 10 isn't irrevelent.
upgrading can screw anything up, especially since it'll be from a variety of different sources.
For ex. My brightness setting still doesn't work on mine, and it's due to there being zero compatible drivers out there.
Hurrah for proprietary hardware.
-----
That reminds me, windows 10 still isn't getting the best driver support out there, and that could definitely be a part of whhy he gets fps drops.
---------
heating is relevant because it can cause a system to hang even after it cooled down. it's called heat damage. It's why you have a heatsink in the first place.
------------------
It might be with the borderless who knows.

LMAO I'm running a Duo Core CPU, 6GB of obscure Ram, and an ancient GT 6100, still 1080p full 60fps and not a single frame dropped, did I mention I run Win10 and yet to have a single issue with it?

Did I mention that's irrelevent? Your specs won't do ♥♥♥♥ if you don't got drivers, or drivers that work.
Your specs also who do ♥♥♥♥ if they're damaged.
Better specs are also more likely to be damaged.
Try actually working on computers man.

Edit: or a million and one reasons why an upgrade might fail.
or one of the other million things that could go wrong.
Computers are fickle, you gotta actually troubleshoot and use your head instead of saying
IT WORKS FOR ME WHY NO U Hurdehurhur. e.e

Too bad you didn't read the part about the new Laptop that can already play something much more taxing.

I did...
you don't know how any of this works. You're like that grandma in the candy crush commercial.
These two games can't even be compared because they're not only programmed differently but use different engines and software.
They have different bugs, the witcher relies way more on the gpu than the cpu.
what else do you want?
An idiots guide to software debugging?

Even then, it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ prebuilt.
those things have problems out the wazoo.

Refresh Windows 10, Removes all the pre-build Bloatware which is most likely making conflicts.

You don't have to try to make things sound more complicated to overcompensate, some of us has been doing this way longer.

Experience doesn't equal skill.
And honestly you'd be surprised how many people wreck their stuff on the first day.
It might be the bloatware, I doubt it though as I get the fps hangs in brawlhalla as well.
Especially since he says it's a higher end laptop (seems like it has a built in gpu)
Protip, gaming laptops usually don't have all the bloatware as a throwaway pc.
Though it still happens <<

Asus ROG 751YJ , I deleted every bloatware I could, and looking at my CPU usage (i7-4720HQ) before I start the game its at 1% usage...
RocketMan Jan 13, 2017 @ 9:43am
still getting the hanging?
Better question, do you notice the stutter? or is it just the fps dropping in the menu?
