The matchmaking is awful..
I've recently started playing, just a couple of days ago actually, and played for roughly 10 hours.
After practicing in regular online matches, i noticed i'm doing pretty alright for people who all seem to be around the same play time as me, so i decided to hop into ranked.

I don't know why the matchmaking works this way, but even though i literally just started, every match i'm placed against people that have hundreds of hours, most with gold+ rankings from previous seasons, and i'm trying to understand how the hell is this supposed to work.

See, after a season reset there is a soft reset, meaning golds derank to silvers, and they could have just started playing ranked or are having a hard time aginst other golds that this happened to.

The ranking system will rank you against similar or same ELO as you in the same rank as you. Tho if you happen to be unlucky, not many low rank players are playing ranked at the time, you might go against someone from a higher rank. You could also be meeting people who haven't played ranked this seasom, and therefor are under their usual rank peak/ELO.

12 matches in a row, all against people who are at-least 70 elo above me, 200 hours more than me, and all have borders.

What in the hell is this horrid match making?

70 elo it's just 4 wins against even matches, nothing wrong with that because a win will give you a lot more elo than they will lose. Otherwise it would take forever to move up. Think like a winner, not like a loser...

But 200 hours and still playing against a newbie? Are they still on silver tier? What a bunch of sad fucks, tell them to git gud already.

Dude, nevermind the borders or hours palyed, if they are only 70 elo above you those guys suck at this game plain and simple. There is no problem with the matchmaking if there was just 70 elo difference, the problem is that you are just salty about losing, that's all. Get used to it, because that feeling doesn't go away easily...

That's fucked up... but that's what you get for playing at 3 am in the morning at high elo in the Au/Sea/USW server? :steamhappy:

All the bitching in this thread comes from matches with just 70 elo difference though. So, this thread it's more about being salty than about matchmaking :steammocking:

I think the matchmaking in this game is great. I always get a 50% win ratio every season, that's the way it should be IMO, unless you are a high diamond that waits 5 minutes per match...

When you ALWAYS get matched with someone higher than you, it is infact bad matchmaking, regardless if the difference is "ONLY" 70 or 400.

You gotta ask yourself, who are those people facing?

I haven't played a single game, in over 50 matches, of someone being lower ELO than me, and only a handful didn't have a Golden Border/Icon, and all of them had over 200, while i'm sitting at under 20.

The golden border comes at 1380, that's 2 wins away for you at 1350. How is that a big deal again?

Also, I doubt, everyone is higher because you have a record of 32-27 and if they all were higher, then you would be a LOT HIGHER than 1350. It's simple math, someone with 70 elo higher than you will give you like 20 elo while you will lose 12 if you lose.

With a winning record and more than 60 matches played, no way they were all higher elo if you are only 1350. So stop lying, you LIAR!!

And again about the hours, I already told you. If they suck, they suck. Nothing to do with time, you lose a match and you lose elo. Nobody gets free elo because they have more hours. Tell them to git gud if it's true, but really, stop LYING because I already disproved this

How am i lying? The gain system isn't a statis +20/+12, I've gained 14/16 quite a few times. I haven't noticed anyone being a lower ELO than me, and thus i'm certain i've only faced people higher than me, i haven't been paying attention to it the first 10 games, so i would be open to the option that maybe i was against people lower than me the first 10 games at most, other than that everyone was higher by quite a large margin( 70 or so).
