how the hell do i counter lance spammers?

I've been playing brawlhalla for nearly six months now, and regurally beat golds and platniums, but any time someone grabs a lance and actually knows how to use it, i die, horribly. i usually have no trouble at all adapting to my opponent's playstyle, and am rather decent at dodging and punishing my opponent's misses, but i seem to have a hell of a time trying to hold my own against a decent lance player.

i've found them to be weak from above, but many lance legends have anti air sigs. i can usually work my way around these, but the real problem starts when they go airbore too. they outclass all of my favoured weapons in reach and combo potential, and are fast enough that i struggle to punish them.

my three mains are ada, nix and diana. pistols, my favorite weapon and the weapon that i have mastered virtually every aspect of, seems pratically useless against skilled lance users. i can breifly gain the upper hand by attacking from above, but once they start using side airs, i am completely screwed. i am rather good at dodging most attacks, but the lance always seems to give me trouble in that reguard.

i know everyone tells me to just analyze their attack patterns, and that works just perfect for me against nearly any other weapon, but knowing exactly what attack someone is likely to use next is often not enough for me to reliably dodge it. the matter gets even worse when they mix in down light airs with their side light and side airs. sometimes ive been reduced to throwing weapons at them, but this is out of sheer desperation, and often just results in me trying to take on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spear shaped rocket ship with my bare fists. it doesnt take a genius to figure out how that usually ends.

does anyone have any suggestions for how to beat fcking lance spammers? please? because this is getting irritating.

Use blasters nair, the only move lance has that hits right above it is gp, and well just spotdodge and dair.
Most lance players use dair and sair for engaging, learn to counter that, and they can't get to you at all

So. You have trouble predicting lance movement and countering the lance light attacks. I mean, we all struggle against pros and so, but you just have to fight lance enough, to see the real weakness of it, (the dodgewindows, and perfect blindspots for punishment). I usually try and tank them out a bit, and surprise attack them when they try to continue a string or attack. This works 90% of the time for me, and you should try it out. Nix is especially good against lance, with that delicious scythe. Scythe is really good against lance, since it can pick lance right out of the air. The best thing for you to do, is study lance movement and habits, and find a way to counter them in the best way :)
