I think the bigger concern when it comes to 3DS Brawlhalla is that this games lives and dies on its online and the 3DS doesn't have the greatest online capabilities to begin with.
well nintendo is hardly open to 3rd parties. you VERY rarely see em on their consoles. this new one is the first were prolly gonna see em relax that stance cuz lets be honest here, they no outside their dedicated fans no one buys the nintendo consoles solely for their games. esp when their almost always a gen behind their competition in terms of console performance.
The console performance and/or structure is the main reason why Nintendo's home consoles haven't enjoyed the same multiplatform titles that Sony and Microsoft platforms get since developers would have to seriously downgrade the product or produce a separate version specifically for them, though I wouldn't be surprised if they have some inane behind-the-scenes policies for developers on their platforms too (they have lightened up on their policy on mature games though).
I just think it's inaccurate to suggest that Nintendo don't want third party support, especially when we've seen them make deals explicitly to boost that third part support. Suggesting that they would be afraid of competing IPs is also pretty silly. Pretty much any Nintendo IP ends up with competing games that are similar in gameplay that already exist. It's more Nintendo being Nintendo aka being stuck in the past when it comes to technical and business decisions and hoping that reinventing the wheel each time will be the magic solution.
There are a few reasons I don't think a 3DS Brawlhalla would work, but Nintendo outright vetoing it is not one of them.
its not just the downgrade. i can imagine programming motion controls for some of these games would be a nightmare. yes ik its not required but its a major feature of their consoles and it wouldnt surprise me if they required some kind of support for it and when you got devs that dont usually program games for that, let alone build them around it it goes bad. COD did a wii version and i heard it sold horribly. and tbh i truly think they wouldnt let most ip`s on their consoles. imagine if they let every platform fighter on the wiiU. then ssb would get competition on their own console and nintendo isnt gonna let that happen. i just dont see them allowing any game that could give their own direct competition. prolly even more so if it isnt guranteed to make them money. i think their policy on youtube in the past shows their normal pratices about independents that arnt directly sponsored or making them money.
That aside I really dont see this ever happening
Not teenagers. Not young adults. Not fps a cod fan would already pown the console he can play cod on because their are other options in genres he/she likes. Not to mention the reputation of each console.
Its a bad idea to port any game to a small audience, or the wrong audience.
The ds' had pokemon. But that's going to smart phones. (I think) so I kinda what will make the switch sell. Zelda?
Meh doesn't seem familiar... I only know PC, XBOX and PlayStation
