if i cant get past that its still my fault
still its just good manners to be polite and helps abate the sheer salt
if my victory results in less salt for the guy then ive done them a favour and thats a good deed
but thats just me
*reading the comment below*
wait people actaully say that O.o, what idiots!!!
I'd like to be able to lose a match and feel good about my skill simply by saying "yeah, but this guy DARED try his best to win ! I'm actually way better !", but I can't, I always feel like it's my fault for not being good enough. Lucky them.
i wouldnt say its a bad thing to feel that way. acknowledging your faults is the first step to being better
people who just hide from their faults are cowards and just stunt their own development
just be carefull not to get depressed ;)
You can tell if someone is tryharding.
Sometimes people in lower elo's confuse this with actually playing someone better than them.
But there is a difference.
I'd rather face someone who far outclasses me but is pretty calm about it than someone who's pulling every annoying trick in the book.
Just to add to it, after the game they usually act like they are the best player in the world by saying "ez" or something like that, when they overall are just a movespammer who can't play the game how it was supposed to be played. Now this does not become a problem in higher elos but is mostly around gold/silver.
The first kind is really good and does their best in all their matches. They may goof around every once in a while, but even if they completely stomp you they rarely gloat(these are the ones you're thinking of).
The second kind is also really good and does their best but also never ♥♥♥♥♥ around and tends to be rude and ♥♥♥♥ talk(these are the ones people hate).
It's less about how hard the person is trying and more how good or bad of a sport they are that gets others to call tryhard(it also matters how salty the match loser is).
Combos don't show ♥♥♥♥ about skill. And just make the game easier.
It's no different from a move-spammer, a gimper, or a kid who plays passive asf.
You can see how frantic they play vs someone who is actually good.
