Is it worth playing World Machine Edition on PC for your first playthrough?
I want to gift One Shot to someone that hasn't played it before, but I'm not sure if I should get him the original or the World Machine edition, since they both cost the same. I'm kind of leaning original for the immersion, but I don't know if World Machine Edition has any additional content that would make it better.

get the World Machine Edition bc it has updated movement that isnt clunky. In the og game, you can only move in the 4 directions, and one at a time. movement was also on tiles, so you could only move set distances. In WME, movement is smoother, more receptive. also wme has little extra secrets
The original is intended for PC (especially Windows PCs), while WME is intended for consoles. But, nothing will stop you from playing WME on PC.

Generally, the original is more immersive (and perhaps paranoia inducing) than WME because it uses your actual PC instead of what is essentially a VM.

In terms of differences, one notable difference that comes almost immediately is that WME uses your Steam profile name, while the original uses your PC's account name (which will likely be your real name). So, if you're a streamer and don't want your viewers to know your real name, WME is preferable over the original.
