We are proud to announce Sages of Vandaleria:Rebirth of an Empire, a jRPG inspired action adventure game and a love letter to the 16 bit era.

Sages of Vandaleria features a rich story of a young boy's quest to travel around the world and discover his place in it. Will he fulfill his destiny, reclaim his birthright, and reawaken the ancient power of the 9 Gods? Will he let power and ambition define his path? Or will love and friendship get in the way of his destiny? These are all choices the player must make throughout their adventure. You’ll meet numerous colorful characters along the way, a pirate captain out only for gold and for herself, a girl from a small village on the steppe who wants to make the world a better place, an Imperial Guard Captain who is a true believer in ancient prophecy, and many more! You’ll travel to 9 temples on your journey, solving puzzles, fighting monsters, learning magic, and collecting weapons. Your characters will grow and change along with you as you play the game, with the ability to swap out armor, shields, swords, and other weapons as you please!

This game has been a labor of love for the last 9 years, and we are very happy to finally share it with you. The story of this game’s creation started all the way back in 2015, when our Founder Matthew was home from college for the holidays. His grandfather gave him an old sword, a silk banner emblazoned with a coat of arms, and a very old book, the handwritten diary of his namesake and great great great great grandfather. These few family heirlooms were just the beginning, they would lead Matthew on a journey of discovery culminating in stories of conquerors, kings, and caliphs, of ancestral greatness, medieval honor and bravery, but also murder, betrayal, intrigue, and excommunication. These stories inspired the creation of this game, it was a story that he felt must be told, and so, in 2015, he founded Akeld Entertainment to tell this story.

Sages of Vandaleria is a game from a different era, for those who yearn for simpler times, gaming in the 1990s. Our goal is to capture the feeling of turning on your old CRT TV and your SNES in your room at night, while your parents were asleep, and setting off on a grand adventure with your blanket draped around you, while keeping the volume low so as not to wake your parents.
