FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH

I figured SE would listen to players needing fixes to esp stutters and memory leakage
I suppose those two issues are the largest. Hopefully SE fixes for both nvidia and AMD gpu card users ASAP

That ain't gonna happen, it's Square Enix we're talking about.
Shader compilation stutters could have been avoided entirely if they did a good job in the first place by compiling them properly when the game launches, instead they left most of them out and this issue is visible on every PC no matter the specs or the game settings.

Then why do I have no issue ? No memory leakage, no stutters, barely any pop in, 120 fps, even when streaming it in 1440p. Am not the only one either, lol. This port is one of the cleanest, crispiest video games I ever played, at least in the AAA space. ^^''

Their older game remasters like Chrono Trigger don’t even work unless you download obscure files through the windows media center manually. Ofc there’s no word about that anywhere.

SE generally stop caring once their game has released on steam, at least as far as Final Fantasy games go.
What memory leak?

There isn't one, the game fails to unload assets leading to an increased memory usage, the game can even fail to unload assets once the game is closed leave 2+gb of extra ram used. Going from personal observations, haven't checked since the patch either

I've not had much time to play since the patch but what I have has felt smoother over all, I managed to limit my crashes using amd to extended play session by dropping a setting. I had thought it was a specific setting but doesn't matter which at least for me. That's nearly 100 hours and as I say crashes from the pinned tweet are limited to long sessions, that was pre patch. Background detail a notch lower and barely an issue.

He's probably talking about how Sqaure Enix is very bad at supporting their games post launch.

Just to get an idea of how bad it is, FF-XIII & XIII-2 are almost completely unplayable right now in Win11 and the community made fixes for them are no longer working anymore with the new win11 24H2 update, they are pretty much unplayable rn unless Square Enix updates the game themselves to be compatible with the new windows updates.
Owners of those games have already sent multiple bug reports to square (through square support center) but they pretty much don't care about addressing this issue at all as they no longer support those games.

Worst yet, these two aren't even the only Square Enix games that have this issue of being unplayable on modern systems with Win11 24H2. I've also seen similar issues pop up on some of their other older Remasters like FF-X/X-2 and and FF-IX (random crashes after updating win11 to 24H2)

Maybe the issue is with windows patch 24h2 ? :P
It's making even modern games lock up people's PC ie: Path of Exile 2, and it's the same over there, people blame the game and the dev, not microsoft. You guys are just gonna let microsoft screw with your gaming experience ? They're also responsible for crowdstrike, but people happily blame crowdstrike. ;p
I run both this and PoE2 np on win 10.

Like, at this point, not even gonna lie, I'm pretty sure more games run, and they do so better, under proton and linux than windows 11, even if the games are made for windows. ;p

I don't know anymore. I put a Nvidia card now because ther was nothing to do with the AMD, and after the patch, the fps without mod was just plainly horrible. So I am with those mods now.
-Fantasy Optimizer v2 from FrancisLouis
-FFVIIRehook from emoose
-MOD FOR FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH MAKING SUPPORT FOR ALL UPSCALER END FG by cdozdil end Artur Graniszewski
-FPS BOOST CLEANER VISUALS by VANILLA

I hope it helps. No engine.ini tweaks. I got too much crash with them.

Unless you publish your first gameplay video with frame-time metrics what you say is unproven.
Shader compilation stutters will happen on every machine on the first playthrough of the game, some are barely noticeable others are not. Update or downgrade your drivers to force re-compile shaders and you will experience those stutters all over again.
Watch the video and listen to the issue being explained in more details:

Square could take like 5 hours out of their time and make both XIII and XIII-2 Large Address Aware for for 64 bit OS's. Are you saying the executable just has a flat out runtime error on boot with Win11? Still on Win10 here
