why are people annoyed with the minigames
most of them are really fun, the original is notorious for the amount of minigames it had so i dont understand why people went into this game not expecting them.

They're trying to rush through the main story and don't care much about the experience the game is trying to provide

I don't mind most of them, I have no problem with going to an arcade irl so I find the minigames unproblematic for me (most of the time)
That crunches minigame is doing my head in. Jules in my game always gets 52. I make zero mistakes and cant get past 50.

edit: finally beat Jules after 30 tries managed 54 crunches he got 51.

Off the top of my head the original didn't have

1. Card game
2. Vacuum cleaner
3. Frog jumping
4. Chasing Moogles

FF7 was heavy on mini games tho, but they have definitely added a few more.
Minigames should be easy to pass but hard to master, on Rebirth they're hard to pass and easy to master that's the issue,

They need to look at RGG and Yakuza on how to add mini games and make them fun.
The minigames are just everywhere.

Because the story and combat is awesome, but the game gets in its own way with so many minigames

MIni games should be desserts that add more flavor to the game. Their amount should be limited. Yet this game has added too many of them. The mini games become annoying after chapter 7, when player was bombarded with almost 20 mini games from chapter 7 to chapter 9. That was a little overboard to the point of unbearable. In addition, some mini games become tasks that have to be performed repeatedly with increasing difficulties, (right, I am talking about those damned moogles) thanks to area information side quests. As far as I am concerned, they become a real pain in the ass.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love the minigames, it really adds variety and whimsy to the game lol
Fun, but excessive. At this point, I expect like 5 or more minigames after every single chapter.

I don't mind them personally, but I can see how people might feel it's a bit excessive.

The OG FF7 had plenty of minigames, but the mandatory ones were spaced out pretty well, the rest were optional, it's been a while since I played Intergrade so I don;t recall the frequency of minigames, but with Rebirth here literally by the time I finished Chapter 2 I'd played what like three minigames?

Plus with the way they've implemented the side content as part of leveling up and gaining more abilities in the game, it makes the "Side Content" feel quite mandatory unless you wanna play on Easy. I literally read an article I found on my phone's news feed that basically amounted to "If you don't wanna do the side content, play on easy otherwise you're gonna be under powered"

More minigames after the Gold Saucer not cool! there I was thinking finally done with minigames now onward with the story.

Womp womp more minigames. Like seriously? Was burned out at the end, especially cause older now, it takes me multiple attempts to succeed at most of em.

I suppose if you blitzing the mini games its not gonna be frustrating. Unfortunately for me it was a slog....

And yea as others have said It felt like had to do em, didn't want battles to become a slog as well.

Agree. This is why they should not have made the game a trilogy. They try to compensate by bloating other side contents to stretch play time. This is why both in Remake and here most players always says "hard mode is the way the game is meant to be played" because in this mode the sidequests are truly optional since we already done it in normal mode and can just concentrate on stories and sidequests we really want to do.

Rebirth is an improvement in that it does have more main scenario content vis-a-vis the sidequests compared to Remake but it still makes the pacing of the game so bad. And like you I guess us older gamers might not have as much patience as we used to if we are younger. And omg I just wish Chadley would shut up. lol.
Minigames are great if they are fun. Queen's Blood is amazing. The rest I simply don't care about.

Piano mini game is a pain in the ass for me since I dont use controller and using KBM
first time player to the series ( apart form maybe the very start on ps1 years a go as a kid never made out the slums ) anyway coming from ff7 part 1 I loved that game and it was done so very well to then jump on this one and having mini games almost all the time is taking me out the game personally if it allowed us to skip ( sometimes it dose ) I wouldn't be bothered as much or a we mini game here and there but all the game so far and am on cheaper 10 is fully of useless needless mini games even to get you next chocobo its a mini game wanna do that its a mini game I think ff7 part 1 was a much better game and its world with better quest this open world feel empty and take you out the game and the issue isn't the story or anything or the characters its the choices they made with the open world the worst is the pop in and having animals like dear literally disappear right in front of you and people floating off the ground etc wasn't even bad on ff7 pt 1 this here feel way way off and like I stated immersive braking compared to part 1 it just feels the game is a down grade to the already better game of the first part
