Unsatisfied with RX 6600 Performance – Upgrade to RX 7600 XT or RTX 4060?
Hi everyone,

I’m currently running a Ryzen 5 5600G and an RX 6600. While the RX 6600 performs decently, I’m not happy with how blurry and grainy this game looks on it. I only have the budget to upgrade my GPU and am considering either the RX 7600 XT or the RTX 4060.

Will the RX 7600 XT completely fix the blurriness and graininess issues I’m seeing, or is it just a limitation of this game?

Or should I go with the RTX 4060 for more consistent results (and maybe DLSS)?

I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences! Thanks!

If your budget allows it.. I would go for the 4070 RTX, its quite a big difference between the two. Its also a bit more future proof since it has 12gb instead of 8gb.

Ah well in that case I have no knowledge about AMD gpu's at all and how they perform compared to the 4060. Maybe watch some benchmarks between the cards and watch some youtube benchmarks ( also for this game ) to make your decision.

I'm on a 7900XT and there's still blur. The blur comes from TAA because that's how antialiasers work today -> they pretty much just Gaussian blur the entire picture to fix the jaggies and you can't turn it off because a lot of assets are temporally baked so turning it off causes a ton of artifacts and jaggies.

Give it a try thought you might like it:

Install FFVIIHook Rebirth mod on nexus first, then navigate to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

open gameusersettings.ini

make sure sg.AntiAliasingQuality=0

Save.

Or if you don't like that, check out these fixes - Helps bring back a ton of clarity but are super demanding.

DLAA/DLSS is the same story but not as bad as TAA. I've seen a lot of Nvidia owners also complain on 4080s/4090s. Their solution is the circus method -> downscale then upscale DLDSR + DLSS (essentially supersampling).

check if you're using an upscaller and what type of antialiasing you're using
the blurriness comes from them most of the time

Thanks for explaining that! I tried that mod yesterday, but it just made everything look super grainy for me.

Didn’t realize Nvidia cards also deal with blur in this game. It’s hard to tell from benchmarks videos from youtube, so this really helps. I think I’ll go with the RX 7600 XT—it should help with textures and background models, right? (cmiiw)

Appreciate it!

your issue is low vram. if your budget allows get a GPU with at least 12Gb Vram minimal 16GB is ideal but don't go lower then 12GB Vram. weather its AMD or NVIDIA make sure your VRAM is more then 10GB

I got the 4060 Ti with 16 GB during Black Friday (I bought it to play all the latest heavy games for 320 euros) and I have to say it runs everything fantastically on ultra settings at 120 fps, both in open-world and dungeons..

My config is :

I7 9700K (OC 5.1 GHZ)
RTX 4060TI 16 GB
RAM 64 GB 3200
SSD Samsung 970 evo Plus

( I put the disk in because this game, like many of the recent ones, also requires a good disk. )

PS NOT BUY IN 2025 8GB gpu..

Yes, I specifically bought the Zotac because it was on sale, but there are others from different brands as well... (If you look at the specs, in fact, this one with 16 GB is pretty much the same as the specs of the upcoming 5060ti).

Don't get a card that doesn't end in 80 or 90. Waste of money
ignore elitist replies, get a 4060 if that's what your budget allows.

do NOT under any circumstance get an RX 7600/XT its bad. very bad. the difference between 7600 and a 4060 in this game is night and day. it felt like the AMD card is 2 generations behind lol.

Not sure how 4060 only has PCI-E 4.0x8 impact on your 5600G which only has PCI-E 3.0. That makes you only has PCI-E 3.0x8. I will not try that.

In 2025 you are shooting yourself buying an 8gb card

You're welcome.

I personally would go for 7800XT minimum. There's only like $150 difference it and the 7600XT. Like others have pointed out, 16GB VRAM is the absolute minimum you should be aiming for in 2025 unless you are playing at 1080p or lower and even then.... ehhhh... Games are now coming out either on UE5 or with mandatory raytracing and are poorly optimized. Anything lower than a 7800XT or a 4070Ti isn't going to handle them well or least of all be future proof because I'm sure there's some monster next year that will make even the XTX / 4090 crawl....
