For the most part, yes. You have to do few in Costa Del Sol.
Costa has a few but you get rewarded with Tifa bathing suit with physics for it.

Afaik, only 3 are required to progress the story. Most of em can be skipped or forfeited to continue the story
You can but you are not going to want to. Your night at the Gold Saucer will suck because your friendship meters will basically be zero. Most of the God tier builds involve materia you can only get via side content, you will be passing on things like summons, your skill trees will be mostly empty because you passed on things like folios.

I'm not saying you have to do all of the side content, but you might want to find a happy medium between skipping most the game, and doing all of it.

No you must play half-baked mini games within the game you actually want to play and you will like it!

Most of the relationship value comes from story dialog options, story events, and the one quest (not mini-game) per chapter for your preferred character. Mini-games add some but very little, relatively, and most are not even character impacting mini-games.

You can get most of the materia you miss from a mini-game for sell 1-2 chapters later typically.

You do not need a god tier build and "god tier" builds are intended for hard mode, not dynamic, normal, and easy which you can simply swap to anytime if you are having difficulty.

Summons are largely bad but those are a minor controlled element you can easily access very quickly if there is one you want.

Skill trees will not be mostly empty. You may not get the final Folio party level but you can get quite a bit of the stuff, more than enough to readily beat the game.

At least your argument isn't that they should do all of it but find a balance of some content, perhaps the parts they enjoy, rather than all of it.

Why'd you respond to a post from almost four weeks ago?

Because the thread is active still and had a recent post just a few posts after that was 9 minutes before my post?...
