It uses Unreal Engine so it has the same shader caching stutter as the original.

this one has precompilation in theory, some stutter is expected first time you go on new zones, but on other new ff games stutter is always present, even with fixes. i've a 4070ti i5 13600kf, hoping i've not hardware issue but other demanding non square games work fine

Not really, but YMMV.

I haven't tried it out yet, but it is allegedly an excellent port and probably the best single-player PC port that Square Enix has ever made. The game even has shader pre-compilation!

"the port is good?". Even on Ps5 looks bad. Lower settings looks like a ps2/ps3 game. Keep having stuttering. But fanboys will say "thanks square for this amazing port, love you".

I got a refund yesterday. I knew it will have problems. The game is much more demanding than it looks like. "But it's a massive ultra big open world".

Yes, but a massive super gigant open world sometimes are bad. And AC Odyssey is super big too and runs better.

forced motion blur and forced DoF insta trash port.
well my wife just loaded it up, max resolution is 1080p, no ultrawide support again. possible a 60 fps cap i didn't play with settings myself)

she's just starting so we'll see. the ****** of the original story is bad enough but i digress lol..

It supports 4k and 120 FPS. There'll probably be an ultrawide mod in a few days just like REMAKE for the 2% of people that have them.

it’s a bug. put it in windowed mode and you can change resolution then go back to full screen
Compared to Remake and FF16, this port won by 100 kilometers.

That's not a bug. Borderless window always uses your display setting, the grayed out 1080 (or whatever it says at that moment) is just saying this setting is doing nothing in this mode.

thanks. anyway for the others who commented before, yeah it's pc and not having ultrawide, disable blur and other settings is not good, but there's always mod for that, i'm actually talking about stutter, that's the only thing who matters to me. usually lowing res and settings to minimum doesn't remove stutter in games who suffer from other problems, especially with my mid tier rig (4070), if the stutters are a little in exploration but none in combat, it's a win for me. remake part 1 run perfect on ps5 but bad on me, ff16 it's not perfect on ps5 and has problems on pc too, rebirth you need the damn ps5pro to look good on console (i don't have it), so i hope the pc port this time is better than base ps5, graphic wise sure will, but i hope not at the cost of micro (or more) stutters everywere

i'm still on flashback part, but for now without any mod and max out 1440p settings runs pretty good, need to reach a semi open area part to put my final judgment
