Who knows... they probably developed this game with ray-tracing as default, and by adding an option to turn it off... that means the devs will have to re-develop a whole new alternative lighting system just for the PC version and for the people with old GPUs. I don't think they're doing that.
And I can predict more games in the future will also force ray-tracing on because of this reason. It's a waste of time and budget to develop games with two lighting systems.
Better upgrade your GPUs. Think of it like when we leaped from DX9 to DX10/11. It's time to upgrade back then, just like now.
This game has issues running smoothly on PS5 which has much better GPU than your bottom of barrel GTX 1650
If it has only the RT lighting engine then no, you aint opening it on ancient hardware
it could have it on the ps5 pro update but unlikely
It had no ray tracing on PS5, i think it's because the RTX series has DX12 and it's required to run the game.
Hamaguchi said in an interview several weeks ago that they were aiming to make the game playable on less powerful hardware as well. Stated directly that they are aiming to be compatible with the Steam Deck.
