Best way to kill Super Units as Goo
Hey there, although I finished the campaign, I found Super Units generally giving me a tough fight.

The best way to deal with them, from what I gathered, was to simply bumrush them with a Purger. It was fairly easy to destroy them that way, as they were slowed down and relatively quickly absorbed.

But you don't always have Purgers at the ready, which meant that sometimes you had to rely on normal units to do the job.

Ruk without manned turrets is easy. Ruk WITH manned turrets is almost impossible to take down without a Proto Purger. Units at ranged get nuked. Units in melee get picked off. What tactic should I use?

With the Avatar, I've only managed to kill it without the Purger by simply killing it(very slowly) with arty-goos, while distracting it with Bastion goo. It's not a very efficient way, and can take minutes to just kill it. Any better way?

Also, when my Purger Goo superunit is damaged, how can I heal it?

The only way to heal a Purger is to take the Artillery tech that allows the Crescent (the arties) to heal units with their fire. Then just have them fire on the ground using alt + click and it should work I guess. I haven't tried, but I'd bet it's an extremely slow process especially for a 5k-hps unit.

Use mountains and artillery?

Maybe charge in with raw goo then split it b4 it dies, chargeing the ruk is the only option really if you dont have the terrain on your side.

Mother goos, imo. Sending two 800+ HP ones from different directions towards an Alpha or Hand o' Ruk did the trick for me in the final campaign mission.

Yep mother goo

The goo are in general very fragile, so when they meet something like a titan it really bashes them up hard. The only way is to hit them hard, but artillery and ranged units will get taken out fast; esp since they don't move fast enough and most maps are corridored enough that one or two good shots will take out most of your army unless you can spread them around.

Mother goo's though are tough, let your units distract and take a hit from the main gun then let the mothers get in. The main guns can't fire at close distances on any titan and whilst they have defences; you can really smash them up in close quarters.

Titan's won't be beat at medium range nor long range; they are just far too strong unless you are very spread out around it.

Of course you can thrown your own titan at another titan and they'll take a big chunk of each others health

So the consensus on the best way to take out another faction's super unit is to simply bury it with mother-goos?

i just did the mission against the 2 ruks, i just charged em both with my purger, he just eated them. 2 ruks down and my purger still had 1/4 hp left.

Hah, yeah, the Purger is probably the best Super Unit as far as duels between them are concerned, but what do you think you'd do if you didn't have a Purger available?

Mothers.
Mothers hit hard and get inside the units minimum range for their heavy primary weapon. This means they can deal a lot of damage whilst not being at risk from the primary titan weapon.

if you get teh chance as Goo you could use the bastion to distract a single round of fire from the titan and move your mothers up on the other side of it.

I'm on the mission with 2 Ruks, they are stuck at the perfect range so that each is able to cover the melee range of the other, so i am gonna send a full health mother, artillery, and my purger at them and see what happens.
