Why isn't Universe at War: Earth Assault no longer on Steam ?

So far no official respond in the forums of that game , so i ask this here.

Try their forums or send them an email if you want to try and get an offical response. Looks like the Games for Windows Live thing might have cause the game to no longer be distributed on steam.

Because Games for Windows got shut down. UaW needed files form that program to work and now it doesn't have them. This has happened to a lot of Games for Windows... games. There is a fix around it, but I haven't tried it. Go on google and look up the steam forums for the game.

So far I remember Windows live was some kind of DRM , so not needed Software.
Dawn of War 2 did have this too, but the game is still on steam available.
So they could for sure fix their game.


I lost CD, so i do wish this gamer back to play Human resistance Mods and so on.
It was just the error here, full functional Human Faction, but you could not play them.
Any Mods does fix this.

Its on Sega to get the game back on steam (unless there is just bad blood from things like the THQ lawsuits, Sega bought Relic), and I think it could be the Gamespy shutdown last year. They hosted various multiplayer games as a third party. Dawn of War II was moved to Steamworks.

The Games for Windows Live could still be a factor, I'm not exactly sure what's up.

If you find a copy that does not have GFWL plastered on the box, there should be a usable steam key (checking its for your region or not locked to one).

The other option is to petition Sega to have the game moved to steamworks but you will need to make a compelling argument, that they would make money from this.

They could make money.
I would like actually if they make of this game a rehost with the already finished 4rt Faction.


This game failed by 3 things.

1 A full Functional developed Faction was never ingame, but every mod does fix this.
2 games for Windows life = totally pointless and counterproductive DRM
3 the release version did have a really bad zoom out, but it was later fixed.


I mean the team developer Team is still out there, its same guys from Grey Goo Actually ,
so why don't they just make an easy to fix stuff, to get this back on steam ?

Its not a bad game, it was for some reason really fast "abandoned."
Because there was a rumor about an Addon.

Developer Team is still out there,
the Mod that contains 4trs Faction seems to have a lot of fans, the problems are easy to fix.

Anyway you right we must as the Community request this game back on Steam.

GFWL did not shut down they shifted there focus and where no longer supporting new games on GFWL that why many games move over to steam but it still is active
