Yep... Everything...
Im sure there would be plenty people playing multiplayer if that aspect of the game was free.
If theres plenty people playing multiplayer id also be happy to pay for races/skins/missons to support the game.
If i rember right there was a free weekend a long time ago and there was 3000 people trying the game.
any reason why? or is "no" as far as your argument goes ?
What you seem to forget is that free multiplayer leads to a large number of 'noob versus veteran' matches. And if my first experience with a game is 'wait, what do I do? Okay, so my extractor goes here- Player eliminated' I would stay very far from that game. Granted, veteran RTS players may understand it fairly quickly but Grey Goo is meant to be a simple, beginner-friendly game. Pitting first-time RTS players against Grey Goo pros will only harm the genre in the long run.
From what ive seen on steam charts and the forums there isnt anyone playing multiplayer, veteran or ortherwise.
Even Starcraft2 has a free race that everyone can play as for free in multiplayer against people who own the game.
Also Greybox needs money to keep servers up for multiplayer and more ppl means more money. They did really good job even this is their first game.
