Saves are done automatically (some small text will appear on the bottom right of the screen to let you know when your game will be saved).
There should be prompts as you play the game which tell you what the controls are. Not all of those controls are available from the outset - some are unlocked through small tutorial sequences, and others are unlocked as a part of the narrative (such as cloaking or shooting).
Love the concept and the look.
Would love to know how to exit the first ARID interface screen. Stuck. :(
Esc. not helping. No buttons seem to work.
Also, are arrow keys disabled? can't seem to use them in some menus. WSAD is fine, just used to arrows in menus.
And, thanks for posting on the forums. I love helpful devs.
The first time you come across the operating parameters screen, the game is in a "tutorial" state and requires that you attempt to activate a system (either the networking or camouflage system depending on which order you do things in). You should be able to use W and S to highlight the relevant item and then press Space to attempt to activate it (it's part of the narrative that this will not succeed).
I agree that it is easy to miss exactly what is expected of you here :(
Yeah, the arrow keys only work in the main menu. This is definitely likely to lead to some confusion.
I'm curious to know how you managed to get the Allegory achievement if you couldn't get any of those controls to work. There are most definitely some remaining edge cases where individuals have had problems, and whilst this is not in any way good or ignorable, there's not really much to gain by clouding up unrelated questions with those concerns.
I can't imagine that eyehate could have gotten to the point at which they are stuck without being able to use keyboard controls.
I have both mapped to Escape, and am able to progress past that, so there it's not explicitly a problem with those two actions being mapped to the same key.
Just to clarify, did Escape start working when you moved Back to another key, or was it that other key that was able to let you exit out of that tutorial sequence?
Similar sorts of problems (certain controls not working) which have been reported in the past have often been caused by having game pads, joysticks, wheels, pedals, or other things plugged in (and even software based virtual joysticks that some people use for emulators and things) which Unity ends up getting confused by. Is there a chance at all that this might be happening?
Escape to exit worked better when I maped Back to another key. It was not working before that. It did absolutely nothing and I was stuck. I think it was just a bug with both being on the same key but I would not know, I'm not an expert, just saying what worked for me so anyone else with the same issues can use it to their advantage.
No no, it's great that you took the time to share your workaround :)
What operating system are you using? If possible I'd like to be able to reproduce the problem myself so that I can help the developer fix it in the game.
OS has been doing a weird thing I am OCD about when I play The Fall, the mouse cursor sits in the center of the game when I play it on OS. Windows the mouse cursor does not show, as it's supposed to be I guess.
I only had issues with the escape key not working in Windows 7 but fixed it easily as I said switching them. I switched them on the OS side too just in case if I would have the problem repeat again.
Those are the only two bugs I've had. Mouse cursor on OS and both Mac and Windows having issues with the escape key.
