How do I kill the Caretaker?

I Have been fighting him for 25 minutes and he just keeps regenerating! I have tried shooting his holographic forms both indivually and together. I have shot him in nothing but his robot for before pouncing but nomatter what I do he just keeps regenerating. I have explored the room and there are also no interaction nodes. What am I doing wrong?

Here's a hint: Explore around the room. You should find something that's different when the caretaker is regenerating.

It's quite simple. You just have to shoot down the left then the right generator while the Caretaker is healing himself. On my play though I just fought him a total of 3 times: The first encounter, shooting down the right generator, then the left one. However the order doesn't really matter. This walkthrough should help but there are some spoilers.

Never mind Just went on a shooting rampage and worked it out. Cant believe I missed it.

this helps me too. I have a hard time controlling the guy, but thought I was looking around to see things like you also were, but couldn't find anything else to interact with in the room and it wouldn't let me leave the room. After a while I realized nothing I'm doing is working so I exited. I was even trying to sneak up behind him and use the F button, but it didn't seem to work on him. I was just shooting like crazy at the regenerator but couldn't tell it was doing any good. I'll look for something else to interact with.
