So what are the choices that lead to both endings: 1). Send Roland to Die/not Die 2). Let the Professor commit suicide/talk him out of it 3). Destroy the Portal/Don't destroy it 4). Don't recruit the trees/Recruit them 5). Find the additional treasure for the Knobgoblins/Don't find it? 6). Don't shoot while in final battle/Shoot? I assume the Trees not being present during the battle will let You pick up the spoon at the end for more evil points....
