Viridian lasers!

Where did you find yours? I found a mk1 in a korian invader but I need to upgrade it! Are there any other places I can find one? preferably mk3+?

I used a mkII for about 20 hours before switching to a particle laser. I believe I got mine in one of them "Break the Siege" missions. Perhaps a Korian pirate lord would have one.

I found my mk2 randomly in a floating crate, persumably from a ship I destroyed on the first system. Haven't gotten far into the story mode yet. I love just doing side quests. :P

They are pretty rare. I have only found 2. A mk 2 that i think i got from a pirate lord in one of the first 2 systems and a mk 5 from a fancy cargo crate. would love to find a mk 6.

Only places that they can be found i think are from pirate lords and random special crates. Maybe they very rarely drop from korian dreadnoughts or other korian ships.

I can confirm that the MK 6 viridian laser indeed drops from korian ships.

They do drop I have three mk 5 lasers, two mk 2 lasers and two mk5 mirv turrets.

I'm on my third play though and I've gotten exactly 1 MK2 in each game. It's always been in the starting system, but from different sources - 1 was a drop, another was from a Red Devil mission. The RD mission gun showed up in a special crate the first time I ran it. I ran that same mission another couple dozen times and haven't seen another special crate.

I'm beginning to think it's coded to drop 1, but only 1

Are these special containers randomly spawned and do they respawn? Ive come across one too in a junk field and got a greel deflector from it

Just an fyi if you get the detail scanner you can see which ships have cargo by pressing F to pulse. Further more if you press Tab you can select and scan the ship to see if it has a weapon, etc... drop or just junk. This can greatly speed up getting the weapons since you don't need to kill unecessary npcs. Cargo containers also show up on the radar as larger blue squares.

best bet is killing pirate lords, otherwise korian sieges also have a good drop rate.

there currently is a bug that means if the npc only has a component it won't show with the detail scanner.

Korian Viridian Lasers: I got 5 o 6 MK2, 5 MK5 and 2 MK6.

Most of them - if not all - were dropped in cargo containers by Korian "big" ships that I killed (maybe one MK2 was in a random cargo container). The more difficult the star system, the bigger the ship and the higher the tier of the laser.
For example, I got my one MK6 an one MK5 by killing a huge fleet of Korian ships surrounding a space station during a cargo delivery mission fort the Merchants Faction. There were at least 3 dreadnoughts in this fleet and I am almost sure the lasers were dropped by two of them in special cargo containers.

In summary, to get Korian Viridian Lasers you just need killing big Korian ships, no matter what kind of encounter (mission, random encounter, pirate lord...), and to get high tier (MK5 or 6) lasers you need killing them in such high tier systems.
