Ordinance is the ammo for weapons like missiles. If you don't have any missle turrets then you don't need it.

Ordinance in this game refers to your missile ammunition. If you don't have any Secondary launchers or missile-based turrets, then those Ordinance pickups are useless to you. If you DO have missile weapons, then those pickups are the only way to replenish your ammunition reserves in a fight (you can restock at a station, for a price. Some launchers will burn through ammo at an alarming rate, unless you micromanage them.)

Should be able to resell it though its just clutter, I actually policed a entire area around a location and moved to a remote location to dump it...guess what it was? Crap lol.

How do you actually empty any ordinance that you've picked up if you don't need it?

I looked all over for a way to empty it and could not find the option.

You don't need to "Free up space".

Ordanance does not take up cargo space. It's just an ammo count.

Besides, even if you have NOTHING that uses ammo (such as Flak secondary and all ammo free turrets), you will still be told ordanance is full.

It will says "Ordanance full" even if you have not a single thing that uses ammo equipped or in your inventory.

You can't sell Ordanance either. You can sell your entire weapon, but not just the ammo inside it. You can only buy ammo or pick up ammo.

Ordanance Crates are just ammo refill items. not something you can sell. If you can't pick up an ordanance crate, that is good because it means your ammo is full/you don't need ammo in the first place.

Now, "Munitions" on the other hand. Munitions IS Cargo, not ammo for ship weaponry, despite what it sounds like. You can't fill your weapons with munitions.

Mines are included as ordinance as is any expendable ammunition, I think. Ordinance crates are handy when you're out for a long haul or mulitple missions. It's a free resupply. Refilling at stations can cost thousands of credits. :)
