Ordnance are your missiles and such. Weapons with limited ammo.

You can only pick those up to resupply your ammo - Munition crates on the other hand is a trade good you can sell at a station.

It shouldn't drop if your ship doesn't have any ordnance require weapon, so annoying.

If there's something else you want to get and the ordinance crate is getting in the way, you can manually target it (lock with z) and switch to turrets (3 or 4) to blow the crate up.
