Best ship?
In your opinion, the best ship in the game?

Best ship I've had so far is the Tennhauser. "Best" is entirely subjective.

Tennhauser is awesome, preferred the Barracude; but you are correct, best is entirely subjective & highly dependent on your combat style, current strategy and mission types.

For example, if you like to drop yourself into the middle of a fight... *BSG Spoiler* I'm thinking how Lee Adama dropped the Pegasus into the middle of the rescue mission fight in Exodus Part II... you'll want a Blackgate sized beast with Ramming Deflectors. Barracuda or Tennhauser hull would be shred to pieces once those shields go down; which they will :P

However, if you're all about the guerrilla style, hit & run, smuggling & dead dropping mission... You want to be like Mal flying Serenity in Firefly (man I miss that show), Tennhauser or Barracuda are your ships. Also I think the Barracuda looks more like the Firefly (but not really).

Most importantly, try out all sorts of different ships, loadouts, etc. What I love about Rebel Galaxy is that you buy & sell at the same price (or at least I think you do??). Although this isn't realistic, is much needed in so many games. I hate having to save & reload multiple times because I spent a fortune upgrading my ship/character/etc. only to find out that the description or stats don't line up well with my current ship, playing style, etc.
Im with you on Firefly loved it.

It would be tough to finish the game with the Hammerhead though, no? Assuming you upgraded everything (hull, shields, cargo, etc.), the only limitation would be the turrets and broadsides. As long as you never bit off more than you could chew, you could probably squeeze by.

Heh yeah, it's like this game's hardmode. Gotta be uber careful with my position and stuff. Ol' Rasputin ain't a dreadnaught. lol I know some people have done a hammerhead run before. I guess it is possible, but I want to see how far I can get with a fully upgraded Hammerhead personally.

On a more serious note tho I love the Icarus. Small fast nimble hit and run ship I love it.

Has anyone tried the Radovich? I'm rank 4 with the Merchant's Guild but I need to save 2 mil for it yet.

It's fast. so great for dead drops. But i'd suggest the merchant guild compoent that decreases the effects of EMP's.

I'm using the Radovich now and it is a total improvement over the Tennhausen. I don't notice a difference in the turn rate - it says the Radovich turns slower (average versus fast) but in reality it turns at least as fast as the Tennhausen and has more guns and better armor.

Diehard Tennhausen captains should take a serious look at this.

I also like the turret layout on the ship. It has 3 on top, 2 on the left, and 2 on the right. I put mining lasers on the left and right turrets and set them to attack fighters only, and then put particle beams on the top and set them to attack my current target. I bought the neutron broadside and I can't wait to see it rip apart capitals with all the lasers.

I'm going to save for the upgrade that reduces heat buildup on laser turrets. Hopefully that will help a lot too.

I loved the Icarus and Dravius. Currently though I'm sitting in the Arcturus which is starting to grow on me. The turret placement is really nice on this ship even though it's super slow.

Vanguard. Love the Turret and Broadside placement, plus the huge amount of storage.

Polaris wins.

It has a face.

Barracuda. It's the Millenium Falcon of the game. Did the Kessel run in 11 parsecs.

It depends on your personal definition of best, the Barracuda is fastest if you love speed. The Sturville is the best all around frigate if you want a small and speedy ship but also want some killing power. The Minotaur is probably the best destroyer scale ship, heavy broadsides and a lot of turrets while being faster than the dreads. All the cruiser scale ships have an argument that can be made for them and ships like the Manticore are unique if not exactly mechanically impressive.

I see it as the Serenity (Firefly class) with guns :P

Radovich is my baby. It has the combat power of a destroyer, and the speed of a light frigate, with a heck of a cargo space. It is THE PERFECT ship for doing smuggling runs to besieged stations for double profits, which is the idea this game was built around.

But here is the REAL reason I love it. It is so narrow, fast, and manueverable that I can charge at an enemy ship while dodging it's broadsides (no, really!) and open up on it from point blank with broadside, torpedos, and mining lasers while still at full shields.

It takes smarter flying than the Tennhausen, but you will feel like a true space cowboy.

I loved the Hammerhead, but built my empire with the Icarus (my firefly :) ), moved onto the Sturville (it looks like something humans would build, not the shaggy Murath! Tho Grud is my favorite merc! Every trucker should have a 300lb Dog/huminoid beastman for a pet. SICK 'EM BOY! ;p. ). Next the Radovich the only ship worthy to call Space Trucker! This ship allowed me to skip the cheaper McKinley and go for my fav the Minotaur. It just looks bad ass! TA DA!
