Game will not launch - Windows XP (Solved)
Win XP SP3 32bit here.
Tried to launch from steam client - nothing happens.
Then directly from steam folder and got this error alert:
"The procedure entry point InterlockedCompareExchange64 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"
Googled about a bit - most likely something with OGRE engine.

WindowsXp 32Bit - seriously?

And the errormessage said, you need minimum windows vista

i do not have the error, why i should read the specs? Thats an old error, from 2012 and comes from mongo. The used Version in this game does not support windows xp because its to old. Why ppl use windows xp in 2015?

To understand that the game is advertised as supporting his OS, rather than being "hur hur, upgrade" ♥♥♥♥.

Your very old outdated and no longer supported OS is only 32bit and I'd imagine would need to be the very latest version or service pack of XP.
May be a silly question but did you acept to install the vcredist if not you can go into the steam\steamapps\common\RebelGalaxy\_CommonRedist\ and maually install the vcredist files and the directx\jun2010\setup file while your there just to make sure and restart the PC

I wasnt sure if it wasn't a 64bit only game but I dont think it is and as long as you have the min specs (yes xp but it would need to be the very last/latest version) you should be totally fine

I know silly and I understand people do like to keep XP but have another PC or laptop for that a gaming rig really should be 64bit and windows7-10 i'd personally recommend win10 its amazing not had one issue since the day I upgraded for free

Anyway hope I may of helped some what

Oh I would also imagine your GPU drivers are well outdated as I'm sure nvidia and amd left XP behind when microsoft did

Yeah that exact error is what shows when the minimum OS version required is Vista, !pT0ux is right as far as I can tell, the OS itself is no longer supported by Microsoft and should not expect support from games released nowadays anyway.

Perhaps they shouldn't list XP in the minimum requirements on the store page then, no?
