btw the gameplay is less space and more sea fights..
you should watch a few video before buying, it is not a typical space shooter
as alterantive "space pirates and zombies 2" is the only game that comes near this game
Also has next to no story and dont recall any dlc made for it despite calls for ti.
The biggest gripe is the tiny sound track you basically just hear the same soundtrack over and over.
It's on sale for cheap though it's definitely worth it at it's current price.
If you want some great space combat get star trek bridge commander on gog which is on sale for less than 10 bucks add the vast amount of mods available and you got yourself a true space combat sim that has never been beaten in my eyes.
But can I turn my camera and fire off broadsides like I could in a navel combat game? Heck yeah.
I like it better this way, honestly. This is only my opinion, but I find it more fun then flying in 3D space.

You can customize your sound tracks. For mine, I took music from retro styled classics like Crono Trigger, and Mystic Quest, when fighting in combat. Cool as nucking futs.
Then Phantasy Star 2 Town music when I enter a station. It really makes it slap.
Combat's fine (if a bit weird since it's 2D), there's plenty of things to do, trading is fun (seriously, I LOVED running through blockades), and the star systems all feel "alive".
The fact you can very easily put your own music into the game, is the best feature of the game. :P
I loaded mine up and now there's an expansive soundtrack in-game lol. The soft chill tunes of AI wars while exploring, Mega Man X metal remixes in combat, some fun retro tunes from Crono Trigger or DotHack in stations, etc.
