As in picking up illegal loot from killing other ships and then flying off to sell it at a non space police market?

Yes, this is a thing.

The stations that you can sell the illegal merchandise too makes no sense and is totally random.
For example, you would think a pirate base would let you sell the good there, but unless RNG agrees, you can't...

Wonder if this is improved in the Outlaw version, to a fully-functioning smuggling system.

The contraband that a station will buy and sell is set by its government type and does not deviate from that. It is not random. There's a Steam guide about station events that also includes a smaller chart at the bottom showing where to go for all types of contraband.

Democratic Pirate station? Still sounds stupid to me. Why bother even saying a 'pirate' station...
It is still totally random and makes little sense.

Whoa, have to respond to that, even at the cost of necroing~

Clearly you don't know piracy. Contrary to what you might believe, pirates are generally MORE democratic than their civilized counterparts (ie. The british royal navy, where totalitarian hierarchy is strictly enforced and where "fraternizing across ranks" is considered a punishable offense) Most pirate groups ELECT their leaders, and has a say in most day-to-day operations, and generally respect each other's rights. (And even, in a limited capacity, but more than the established order, recognize women rights)

You took that out of context.

You cannot sell contraband* at a 'democratic pirate station'.
*stolen or illegal goods

So much for pirates that won't deal in stolen goods...

You really try hard to "win" every argument you get into, Willie. It's not good for the board.

Win? Really? When something is miss-stated, you don't think it should be corrected?
Or were you simply trying to 'win the discussion' that you were not a part of? Or perhaps just to start an argument?

You added nothing to the conversation and are only looking to attack others with your post. How is that good for the board?

On almost every topic, you come in and argue and then often have to get beaten back with actual proof when you double down. Just chill, man. It's starting to be a real annoyance. It's just an internet discussion for a video game.

And all you do is argue with everybody, make bold claims that cannot be proven, and shill for your friends the developers. I think you need to chill, you don't need to be in control of the forum because you think you have some bond with the developers.

So much this :steamthis: And it does so on every thread of every forum. Just look at its post history, it's like that Monty Python sketch about the argument clinic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohDB5gbtaEQ
You'd think it'd get better at trolling over time, but if anything it's given up even trying.

Are you seriously so mad that I disagreed with you on another topic that you're stalking my posts? Bruh. Touch grass.
