Other games with similar atmosphere?

I love this game and it keeps me coming back over and over and a big part of that is the atmosphere & attitude.

Any recommendations of other games with a similar sci-fi/western/outlaw feel, even if they're more ground based games, closest I've found so far is the Borderlands games but i'm not a huge FPS fan to be honest lol.

Freelancer (space trading/bounty hunting/all the rest)

Wildstar (f2p MMO with a very, very similar soundtrack and feel)

Shadowrun Returns (turn based, tactical future-scifi stuff with some magic mixed in, more of a 'punk' thing than western)

Darkstar One (Really old, another space shooter, though you only get the one ship that gets upgraded throughout the game)

Raz already mentioned it but I will insist on that one: Freelancer. I actually came to RG because I wanted an experience similar to Freelancer. Now Freelancer is over 15 years old, but it is still nice to play, the systems are beautiful and very different from each other (they had a much bigger team than RG has, which explains a lot in the quality of the details). I've finished the game 2 or 3 times and I've always had fun playing it. The story line is ok and you can drift away from it very easily if you want to make some money to buy bigger stuff. Also, the trade system, although static (no price variaton depending on quantites o stock),is much easier to use than in RG.
I'd say just go for it.

No Elite: Dangerous? Shame...I started playing this to take a "break" from that game, er, sim, er, whatever. Go play Elite!

EDIT: Many ships, enormous sandbox, missions, customization (some cost $), etc...

I recommend Radio Sidewinder for background music.

OH! I almost forgot! Do whatever you want- pirating, mining, bounty hunting, mercenary, trading, it's all there- I'm a space trucker by trade ;)

I didn't mention Elite Dangerous only because it hasn't got that space western vibe this has (which I love btw).

If we were just talking space games, I think Between the Stars looks really interesting - not entirely dissimilar to RG - notwithstanding that it's a roguelike that seems to have a bit of a different focus to this.

It's a bit of a stretch, but the Starcraft universe does have a lot of that same flavor to it.
