Cant hear anything but music

As title states, I can't hear anything else other then the IG music, some explosions, and VO'ing. Though I should be hearing (I'm guessing unless the devs omitted them) engine roar, pewpews from my starboard guns and turrents. Feels like I'm missing some audio file here, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled my files.

Try selecting custom music in the launcher and select an empty folder with no music files in and then try playing the game to test if you hear any engine and normal game sounds.

after that, try selecting your own music files and listen for any differences with-in the game.

It's going to be a process of elimination, I'm afraid,... have you done a integrity test of the game files?

Other than this,.. You may have inadvertantly selected something within the launcher by accident,.. have you also tried the in game setting?

I'm hearing everything, but engine noises. Is there not supposed to be engine noises? I can hear the engines power up and down as well as engaging warp, but that's it

so sound and music are everything, sound is everything from voices to sound effects if you have music higher that is probably why

Open the launcher, locate custom music setting and check to see if you haven't muted Sounds,.. there are two muting options within the launcher and two more muting option with in the system menu.


System Menu = When in game, click Escape and then you'll see a menu at the top,.. find System and see if you have changed any of the sound levels or Muted any of them.

The ships at rest aren't really that loud, but with music off, you should be able to hear the engines, however, while moving, they are noticeable.

I did a quick yt check on game play, and it seems like my personal hearing issues are starting to come through :( Apparently, it's b/c of my hearing loss of certain pitches and tones is getting worse :( Sorry to have wasted your time :(

Not a problem and I know how you feel, my eardrum chirps like a bird and when it does so, I can feel the drum flutter and it's like silence has a Frequency of its own, these days. (Tinnitus),... Dam Headphones and Bass bins, I now have a Love, Hate Relationship these days with them.

Maybe try turning the music volume down a little so you can then ear the engines.
