why did you rip soldier:76's rifle straight from overwatch?

I arrived in Act 2, got my lesson on using magnetism & used it to open the door, then in the next area the new ability disappeared and I can't progress because I need it to solve the puzzle. Is that supposed to happen? I can't see what to do from here and the door I came through is locked....

Good game, enjoying it so far but I like to play without music and the music slider doesn't seem to do anything. Any chance you could look into that? Thanks!
