Fix 1
Turn off Nvidias Experience, AMDs Gaming Evolved, or any other overlay software you have running. They are causing big problems with the game. Also, go to this link for more.

If you have optimized the game with these clients, you will be required to reload the game. Do not optimize the game with either piece of software. If you have done this, reinstall the game after removing it completely.

You also may need to completely delete either program for this to work.

Fix 2
This is for laptops with dual graphics, mainly considering Intel onboard graphics

Fix 3
For FPS issues
limit the drawing distance of the ACTUAL island, to do this u need to go to
Steam\SteamApps\common\Life is Feudal Your Own\scripts\client
and open cm_environment.cs
find
visibleDistance = "10000";
and set it to 200-500, depends on how u want it, i'm setting mine to 200 for more fps but i'm limiting my vision, 500 should be more than enough for good vision, also set the ingame vision bars to the same number too. u can do it from

from 1-5 fps while moving camera i went to 30-50.


Fix 5
DX11 problem
go to game list, go to properties for LiF, go to beta, enable DX9 version... if that works, either your video card does not support DX11 or you have an on board video card that is taking over. See fix 2

Fix 6
Update. For some players our game does not start AT ALL. Actually that is Steam's fault, because it does not install C++ redistr properly. You should navigate to game folder and manually launch:

Disable all programs running, including your antivirus. If that works, disable them one at a time and see what is blocking you.

Im having a simular issue. My startup is black (during which I can hear sean bean speaking to me), then when I either wait for the intro or try to skip it, the screan goes brown and blue. Stuck there. I've tried reinstalling, and i've "verified integrity of game cache".

FINALLY FIX FOR BLACK SCREEN

I have been searching on so many forums for the fix and had read a few times about Nvidia experience causing it and i had exited it and ended it in task manager (i thought deleating it might corupt drivers or something. Im no computer wizard XD) but we just went ahead and completely uninstalled the thing and restarted my computer and it fixed the problem.

Praise the lord!! i cann play and thanks to everyone who was helping me =3

oh really? damn =< so u have gone to remove add programs and uninstalled it that way? and you have tried the "Combo.isEnabled = 0;" thing?

Try disabling overlay in steam setting in the "in game" section, it worked for me yesterday but it stopped working agian today.

yep its great. i updated my driver and hadnt worked since then. found out because it also installed nvidia experience which stopped it from working. finally after the many frustrating weeks it works ^u^

i exited out of it and ended its task did nothing. i needed to completely uminstall it competely for it to work
