Can't seem to flatten ground.

I can't seem to flatten the ground. I have a primitive and I am trying to build a shack but I can't faltten the ground.

I hit Q, terraforming, flatten ground but my guy just stands there doing nothing. I hit Q again and then hit observe but the tile isn't green. It still is white. I have tried lowering the ground level to where it is flat and then flatten ground but I still get the same issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

you stand on one tile, and use flatten on a tile next to it. It brings the second tile to the height of the first.

Thanks. I heard it is suppoed to turn green. The white box is supposed to disappear around it.

It depends on height difference how many times you have to give "Flatten..." command, and if you need to raise level you need soil/rocks/sand/whatever in your inventory. You see when you're done when the tile actually flattens. Use 1st person view, it's more accurate.
