2-Handed training sword requiring 30 2-handed skill?

Is this meant to be a thing where you cannot train in 2-handed skill unless you have 30 2-handed skill in the first place? I can't help but wonder why this is implemented to prevent you from being able to access the 2-handed skill path unless, when making your character, you invested in 2-handed sword skill.

Have you tried to smith the differnt metal swords and see if you can equip them? The flamberge needs 60 but there are a few more to try

Use the training bastard sword.
It will train your 2h skill.
