How do we find ore? Been having a bit of trouble with our village :P

use the prospecting skill. ( suggest default radius at first )
once you have found some, it will tell you.
Start tunnel in that area.
Ore will be aquired with the mining skill.
It may not be right at the surface, you may have to dig deep.

can you start a tunnel anywhere or do you need the ore to be near ?

tunnels can be dug just about anywhere.
if your after the ore, best to dig by it of course.

no, just a pickaxe for digging. It will take a lot of back work. Lots of sweat.

Also for making a tunnel you need terraforming skill.

Just me or when you tunnel it doesnt actually tunnel, he digs with the pickaxe the gorund isnt changing. Also I'm getting Iron and Copper ore yet my minning skills not increasing...

You can only increase you mining skill by mining iron ore blocks that are in a tunnel under ground. Also, it REALLY helps to have 3-4 people help you mine or else it will take forever. Breaking the initial ground also takes forever. It took my 2 friends and I 6 hours to find iron ore under ground.... ( we were probably very unlucky.)

it tunnels it takes forever though...try using probe under prospecting to see how much block is left

Ran around the big mountain, must have used "prospect for iron" at least 100 times, didnt find a single iron vein.

i did too man but i ended up finding some on the lower parts of the mountain on the south east side in a bit of a ravine...it looks like grey gravel
