Anyone have tips? I haven't caught a thing. Is there something I need to do after casting?

nope. its tough.
it gets easier as you go up, but for the most part, cast, catch / dont catch... move around spots. Fish are not just hanging around waiting.. :D

I did a lot of fishing recently (even did a "how to fish" video, I'll link below for those interested). What I discovered is that, with almost no skill in hunting/fishing, I catch a fish once every 6-8 casts. Each cast takes 30 seconds at this level, so every 3-4 minutes I will catch a fish. In other words, it just takes a while ;)

High quality rod seems to help a lot. I could have sworn the server dumped stats about your fishing attempts in the server log, too.

I set up some snare to bring my hunting / fishing up. When I actually started fishing I had like 50skill. Still took a while.

But fish isn´t that good, that you should spend that much time on it.
Better grow some carrots, potatoes and all the stuff you can find.
Even higher quality apples are better than fish atm.

Sorry Jerry, but you are wrong. Because of the Food Skill Multiplier the Fish Stew is the most valuable food. Fish Stew is the only food at the moment that can be cooked using 5 ingredients. And you need a lot of fish for that.

OK, never made stew, just some other fish-stuff with less ingredients, because the time that is needed for fishing.

aye but i can get better qualtiy out of 4 quality ingreidnets tah ni can out of the fish stew atm i don't bother too time consuming
