"STRAW! What is it good for!? Absolutely nuthin!"
...or something like that at least.

Perhaps as fodder for animals in stables and barns? maybe? yes?

Currently the only use for straw is the building of Barns, Stables and the beehive. With the amount of wheat being farmed, there is a lot of excess straw that just gets thrown away or burned up.
Wouldn't it make sense if straw could be fed to the animals in the Stable and Barn, just like real LiF?

Might as well try to solve what to do with all that flax seed while you're at it...

I agree. You only need so many barns and target dummies. Many farm animals eat straw, so it would make a lot of sense.

Straw is not food. Farm animals will not thrive on it. It is filler. If you don't care about producing anything from your animals sure, feed them straw. In reality though it would only be used to keep them from starvation if you had nothing else on hand and could not for some reason let them out to forage.

Hmm, I didn't realize that. I've seen it fed on farms that I've visited. But I didn't realize that it doesn't offer much nutrition. In that case, forget what I said!

Horses eat straw.

Horses eat hay, not straw. Straw is baled after the grain is removed, hay is bailed with the nutrients still attached (e.g. alfalfa). The former is not food, the latter is.

and, flax seeds are toxic... as apple seeds, they contain a very small quantity of cyanide... more you eat, even with spared time, more you are poisining self... and... more you die.

weat and flax is a well balanced recolt that you need only one part or the plant... I'd like to see more things like that

Buzzz... thank you for playing. While true that apple seeds (and biter almonds, prune and apricot pits, et. al.) have an incredibly small amount of hydrogen cyanide in them, your body doesn't store it. You could chomp a handful of apple seeds every day of your life and never suffer from it (well, all that fiber might have an effect). Flax is a little different, but similar. The thing is, cooking it in other foods removes the toxin entirely. Equally, your body processes a certain amount of cyanide every day, anyway (you even need it for brain function from what I've read). So, yes, cyanide is toxic, no, it does not icrease toxicity over time.

(sorry about the off-topic content)

Straw could find many uses in LIF:
- bedding for animals in barns/stables, especially if seasons and cold weather are introduced
- crafting baskets and other similar storage items
- construction material for clay bricks
- roofs
- hats
