How to make a small repair kit?

I've tried everything the wiki says to do, using a knife with a soft billet and nails in my inventory but I don't even see an option to create a small repair kit. What am I doing wrong here?

Use the real knife not the primitiv one,..clic on the knife in your inventory...prepare. Be sure you have 10 nails and one soft billet. You may need many kit too repare properly what you whant to repare so make couple of kits...!

carpentry lvl needs to be lvl 30 to open repair skill and the option, lvl 60 to unlock it for advangesment beyon lvl 29
