"I can't look like a Viking. waaaaahhhh" <-- Berserkers didn't even wear armour so why complain about it if you want to be one in the game?
No, fantasy berserkers don't wear armor. Real life "Berserkers" were personal bodyguards/champions who did wear armor, as they were the normally the most well equipped person in the "Viking" military besides the Jarl/King himself.
It does matter if you have limitted skill points, and can't obtain both. It's also just blatantly stupid to put plate mail in with the "berserker" and chainmail in with with the Knight/Lancer (where you obtain a jousting lance...)
Armor really shouldn't be tied to these arbitrary weapon/fighting skills, but to their own skills.
