Iron, Steel, Vostaskus (sp?) caps...
1. It is fantastic that there's finally a reason to make steel or vostaskus for something aside from monument upgrades
BUT
2. The caps are a bit rediculous... Iron at 60 means that primitive tools such as knives will be made more often, easier to get a 90+ quality primitive knife to make handles with or w/e than to use vostaskus... I feel 80 quality isn't as high as it should be for steel.
3. Cap for primitive should also be included if this is the route they're going to take on this
4. I think Iron should be more like 75, Steel, 90, maybe even 95.

What do you guys think?

I can back you on that. Get Iron up to 80, Steel on 90 and Vostaskus 100, and cap primitive at 50 or something.

Also i wanted to say that the new armor system is frustating. I think that they could make NEW armor sets and that new armor should use blueprints, but taking form gameplay itens that used to be common is a bummer.

80/90/100 would be fine too, but I think primitive should be capped at 70 if they go that route. Haven't gotten into the new armorcrafting yet but from the sounds of it, it's going to be a bit frustrating

all armor should have been buffed resistances to counter act the expensive nature

They showed new armor models a while ago... i expected that THOSE models would use blueprint and stuff... and we could keep making the other models as ususal.

Why is it that armor parts don't get the 20% increase from the blacksmiths shop? High Q shop with a 97Q hammer using a 35q Iron Ingot made a 34q metal plate...

I really hope they revise this armorsmith revamp. Its not working imo. We should have this new rules aplied to new sets... Im ok with the quality cap, but removing content from day to day game will be dumb. EVERYONE will wear the same pieces now.

Every change they made now is targeted for the MMO and just lands in YO. Every YO server owner can mod his server if he wants. 60-80-100 makes sense for the MMO and they changed it back. The high quality stuff was way to common in YO and many got used to it - that shouldn't be the case in the first place.
Here is a forum post where they said that they will change the 75/90/100 to 60/80/100.

Appreciate you providing this information, thank you.
My biggest complaint about this is more that they didn't cap primitive as well, so capping iron at 60 means that people are going to be using primitive tools over iron in some cases, which doesn't make sense.

Primitive tools are slower and have much less durability. What's the point to use them? I'll better use 60q metal saw/axe/shovel then 100q primitive one.

they broke smelting a recycling btw, I recycled 55q hammers and I got q7 lumps...fail
Sharana Dec 2, 2016 @ 3:46pm
They don't want us to use recycle to increase quality of metal - it should be the other way around. Because it doesn't matter if you find q1 or q100 ore - in both cases you can make top quality as you can recycle.
Kevin Dec 2, 2016 @ 3:53pm
So recycling is useless - that is not even worth the charcoal to heat it up.

I am glad they are putting thought into realism but after a while this game will be a giant tedious lump of crap that only really dedicated roleplayers will enjoy.

for most tools, you're right there's no point, but take a knife for instance. I'll use a 95 quality primitive knife over a 60 or even an 80 quality metal knife to make handles, as it only draws from quality. it's slower, but not by much, and the decrease in speed isn't worth the loss of quality.
Sharana Dec 2, 2016 @ 5:06pm
Steel is very easy to make - that's 80q tool. Also why would you need very high quality handles if the tools you create with them will be capped with the metal you use?
