Still control problems [SOLVED]
Now iam getting so tired of this game.
I cant change my controls, it just says lefttrigger on accelerate and you cant change it.
I have read many threds and i dont get what the problem is.
Of course i have the last update.

I have bought the game for over a month ago now, and i am unable to play it with joystick.

Update: Follow "Chacals" explanation below and it will work if someone had the same problem as i.

What do you mean by "you can't change it".
Is there already another value that keeps filling that space?
AfrooDite Dec 22, 2014 @ 6:04am
yes, correct.
"lefttrigger" and it seems to be active all time, because the trunk has full gas. When i push the mouse button to try change it nothing happends.

It seems you have an axis that is firing constantly. I had this problem with the throttle on my joystick.

You need to go in Options / Input devices.
Devices shown in red are the ones that have a value even though they shouldn't (if you are not touching them, all values should be at zero).
Look at the values displayed in red. There are two possibilities:

1- The device is not correctly calibrated, in which case there is a constant value that is close to zero. For example, on my joystick the axis "LeftStickLeft2" always show -0.01. This is not a big problem. You can probably ignore it, or you can calibrate the device, or increase the dead zone a little bit, in the Windows control panel (exit the game first).

2- The axis is not correctly mapped. By default, the game maps all device axes to a 0..1 scale. Some devices have different ranges. For example, most joystick throttles provide values from -1..1 because you can use the throttle to back up the vehicle. This will be evident because you will see a value that is not close to zero, e.g. -0.8 . You can try different mappings, or, even better, if it is not an axis that you need in the game, use "Inactive".

I solved my device problems by choosing "Inactive" for all axes on all devices except for the few that I really needed. Now I have two joystick and a steering wheel working in the game.

Because I had experimented with several settings, my setup was all broken and I had to reset it to default.

So here is the procedure I suggest:

1- Restart your computer to make sure it detects the joystick with the correct device ID.
2- Using the Windows control panel or your device utility, make sure your joystick is working correctly and is calibrated.
3- Download this default config[space.weltenbauer-se.com] and replace it in your profile folder. Don't forget to rename the downloaded file, to match your profile slot (e.g. C:\Users\[your name]\Saved Games\ConstructionSimulator2015\Profiles\0\inputData0.xml).
4- Start the game, go into the game options, input devices, choosing "Inactive" for all axes on all devices that you don't need in the game.
5- If really needed, change the range for axes that are obviously wrong.
6- Go in options / key assignment, click in the rightmost column ("Secondary") for each function you wish to change, and move the joystick accordingly. This should now work properly.

Glad I could help.

I have this very basic issue that the game doesn't identify my CH Products HOTAS by its name. All other simulations that I play identify the CH Pro Throttle and the CH Fighterstick as such, but not so Construction Simulator; that would be too easy. :)
That's already is a frustration factor in itself...
All this talk about "axis range", etc (thanks for the writeup, Chacal) are still not very clear to me, as -- once again -- all other simulations (Falcon, FSX, DCS, and many more) have a propper way to assign buttons and axis to the device via the in-game menu, using visual cues and device names.
Long story short, my devices are still not set up.

this file seems to be non downloadable now,it just opens a web page

@Rainman - Probably these other simulations are not based on the Unity game engine. It is well-known that Unity's input manager sucks, and the Unity team has finally acknowledged this and started to work on a new input manager that they will roll out in version 5.x (but not 5.0, alas). In the current Unity version, it is not even possible to bypass the input manager and write your own code to read the raw input from devices, so the CS2015 devs can't do that.

Meanwhile, some 3rd-party solutions do exist that alleviate the problem to a degree, and the devs have said they are looking into that.

@Chacal -- I wasn't aware of that limitation. Thanks for the info -- greatly appreaciated! :)

Hi there.
Hoping for some help here from someone who can obligingly with setup g27 steering wheel and joystick logitech extreme 3D pro to this game. I can not find the profile folder as everyone says. I have downloaded from aero soft and steam. I have looked for the profile folder in two days on my PC but can not find it? Heelp
Chacal Mar 8, 2015 @ 11:04am
Post #3 above (of which there is a new version here) has all the information I know. You should have no problem with the joystick, however I've heard that the G27 wheel is problematic.

The path to your profile folder is C:\Users\[your name]\Saved Games\ConstructionSimulator2015\Profiles\0, where [your name] is your user name on your computer.
