How to use hired worker?
I am not a fan of driving everywhere or paying to use a short cut to drive me there on auto...i hired a worker. How do i use him and what kind of jobs can he do? At some point i saw an option to use a worker earlier in the game but cant remember where.

If you get in the details of the current job you can choose if you want to do it by you`re hired worker

Ah so can you both not work together on a project then?

Seemingly not.

Thought I'd send mine off with the skiplorry... seems you need a foreman for each job including simple driving jobs. Which is a little irritating.

No. Not at the same time. But your worker can finalize your current task. He just need a few minutes for it. You can see the progress in the upper left corner of your screen.

Just to be clear. You can hire up to three foremans to work on three missions in parallel. And you can hire up to three workers which can finalize your current task.

Let me try to clear things up. For every active foreman you have are able to take a contract. So at the beginning you only have one foreman and no worker > you can do one contract and have to do everything yourself.
Hire a worker and you are able to "skip" certain submissions.
With an additional foreman you can have to contracts active at the same time. So you can have to construction sites, one is done step by step by your coworker and the other one by yourself.
And so on up to three foreman are possible. So in the later game you can manage to organize things in a more efficient way. Let workers do the jobs you don't like to do, plan your shopping tours more efficiently buying all the stuff you need on the different construction sites at once.
And in multiplayer you can also work on up to three contracts with your friends and try to organize things as efficient as possible ... holy moly, I hope this helps and doesn't confused you even more.

So do the foreman work on their own completing a whole contract however big it is or do some of the workers work with the foreman too? and when we say the final task would be like taking the skip to the place where it goes etc?

Foreman only activate the possibility of additional contracts. They don't complete any tasks. You need a worker to do that. They are assigned step by step. Doing one stage. Then you have to assign them again.

Ah okay that makes sense, my previous comment was just after your response Sans so apologise's for what seemed to ask a question after your response if that makes sense.

I suppose really you'll learn more yourself when you get more foremen and workers.
