Vehicle Camera
I'm using the Xbox controller and in the settings I have look left, right, up and down set to the right joystick but when I'm driving I can't move the camera round the vehicle. It simply stays pointing in the same direction.

Any advice? :)

Press and hold the left stick while adjusting the camera with the right stick

Thanks. Is there anyway to alter that? It feels rather unnatural having to hold in the left stick and move the right stick to rotate the camera rather than simply moving the right stick :)

I have the same feeling, doesn't seem to be a way to do it in-game, maybe the config files? I don't know how to mess with that.

It can't be just the right stick because the inputs are the same for all vehicles, so if you tried to look around while excavating you would kill everyone around.
But it can be changed to something other than the left stick, in the key assignments menu.

@Chacal, I can't find it in the key assignment menu. Can you point to the exactly key binding? Thx!

I believe it is Camera controls / Change view.
But I'm not sure because I use the mouse for looking around.

To bind a button to this function, you have to edit the inputConfig.xml file. Here is the easiest way to do it:
1-launch the game, go to options / controls -bind the button you with to use for "camera modifier" to the Open Menu secondary key - quit the game.
2-open C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Saved Games\ConstructionSimulator2015\Profiles\PROFILE YOU WISH TO CHANGE (0,1,2).
3- open the inputConfig(#).xml file with a text editor (I use Notepad++).
4- The first input is openMenu -find the <Key_Secondary>Joystick(#)Button(#) -copy this Joystick(#)Button(#)
5-further down, find the cameraModificator group - after <Key_Primary... paste the copied Joystick(#)Button(#) so it looks exactly like this:
<Key_Primary>Joystick(#)Button(#)</Key_Primary>
I also pasted Joystick(#)Button(#) into <Default_KP>... , not sure if this is necessary.
6-CLICK SAVE in the editor, exit editor, launch the game- REBIND THE OPEN MENU secondary key (default is start button)
I would reccommend to not bind this button (new camera modifier button) to any other function, but it probably could be.
Enjoy you new "camera modifier" button.

I thought Free camera worked with the Xbox controller. Being in that camera should work.

The camera does work with the xbox 360 controller, but you have to hold L3 to be able to pan the camera with the right stick. The above instructions are how to rebind the L3 to whatever you like.
