thanks for your interest. The store page does state that there will be a workshop implemented. There will actually be two mod-tools available. One for machinery and one for construction sites/buildings and therefore missions. Therefore you'll be able to design your own house and lay out a plan on how to build it. People will then be able to download your "blueprint" and start to build your idea. And the best part is you can do all that in Multiplayer together with your friends.
To get an idea how detailed the work you will have to do is, you should check out a video from this year's GamesCom on YouTube. Although we only showed a demo with limited functionality it will give you a good impression.
The tasks will be a lot more interesting than just driving stuff from A to B.
It looks nice, but i will wait untill i can see more about this simulator.
Big question.. DEMO?
Maybe one small site with access to a couple pieces of equipment?
A demo for a sim like this would go a long way as a lot of these so-called sims end up being junk, so a lot of people are burned against games like this with these claims.
Not saying your untrustworthy, but with Steam's lack of control (seemingly) over the quality of titls getting greenlit lately, a demo would be required for a lot of us before purchasing a higher priced sim like this.
