Help! Stuck at tutorial (adjust view. . . )
I just bought the game and can't even get past the tutorial section.

I've hopped in the white truck and backed it up to attach the trailer with the small excavator on it. The problem is the game (character) keeps telling me "Slowly reverse and couple the trailer with the digger to the truck. To better navigate, you can adjust the view with the left mouse button or on your gamepad. Just give it a try!"

Well, the left mouse button doesn't work for that. Yes, the right mouse button when held down can allows the camera to move freely and the V key changes the view but this has nothing to do with the left mouse button. The problem is, without getting past this game prompt I'm stuck before I even got started.

Should've done my homework on this game before buying it because thus far I'm not impressed. For what it's worth, I'm just using a mouse and keyboard.

Hi there,

I fail to see how this is a problem with the game. Yes, the tutorial is wrong and says left mouse, but that doesn't mean you can't change your views. The game works fine for myself and others.

What exactly is the problem you're experiencing that is preventing you from passing the tutorial?

I'm guessing you haven't coupled the trailer.
When you back up to the correct position, a message at the bottom of the screen will tell you to couple the trailer. Do that by hitting the "C" key.

I've tried coupling the trailer and even driving it to the dig site.

The problem with the game is that the tutorial appears to work on prompts once you've completed a task, and it doesn't seem to recognize that I'm able to change views and thus complete the tutorial. Without getting past this, I can't really play the game because that message won't go away.

True the task prompt tells you to use left mouse button to change the view, when in fact it is the right mouse button you should use. However - that being said the initial mission / tutorial is not locked to camera change actions. This particular step is locked to you coupling the trailer, nothing more. I have experienced this particular task prompt being kinda stuck and I've made the dev team aware of this problem. The "easy" fix is to simply open up the task (click the task icon top-right corner of screen to open up the task list), check what you are supposed to do next (drive the truck + trailer + small excavator to the site), park the trailer inside the 4 cones on the site. Then exit the game completely and restart it. I have used this method to fix the stuck task prompt and get the task prompts moving again.
True there are still a few glitches in the game, but overall it's not a total waste: there are solutions to these glitches and they don't exactly prevent game progression - they are just minor annoyances. Devs are still working on fixing these glitches as we (the community) report them back to them. Give the game a chance - I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as the rest of us do :)

That makes sense. The mission script must have missed the coupling event.
Don't judge the game for a glitch in the first tutorial, you will change your mind when you end up working with 3 buddies online, with 2 excavators digging, someone cycling the dirt trucks and another bringing materials for the next stage.

just cancel the tutorial from jobs -> active jobs menu. You will have to figure out everything by yourself from there on, but that way you can skip the tutorial...

Thank you very much! It otherwise looks like a great game and I'm looking forward to enjoying it, just a tad frustrating but for anyone else that plays the Fallout series I'm used to glitches and still being able to enjoy a game. Will give this fix a shot.

Thanks everyone!

That worked successfully, thank you all very much!!!

I'm glad I could help, Happydude :)

I've had a chat with one of the team members of CS15. They have been looking into this particular bug and are working on a solution, however at this time there's no ETA on a fix that I'm aware of. I do know that they are working hard on fixing the issues that we as a community report back to them.
Until a fix is deployed the fix that I previously posted can get you past the problem :)
