In the SAE control pattern, the left hand joystick controls Swing (left & right) and the Stick (in & out), and the right hand joystick controls the Boom (up-down) and Bucket motions (close & dump).
Left hand left = Swing left.
Left hand right = Swing right.
Left hand forward = Stick out.
Left hand back = Stick in.
Right hand left = Bucket close.
Right hand right = Bucket dump.
Right hand forward = Boom lower.
Right hand back = Boom raise.
Usually, excavators comes with that kind of settings (SAE) from all manufacturers (Komatsu, Caterpillar, Kobelco, Hyundai, Doosan, Hitachi, Link Belt, Kubota). Some excavators have the possibility with the easy motion of a single switch, to change the operating mode from SAE to ISO and, from ISO to SAE.
Left hand right = Swing right.
Left hand forward = Stick out.
Left hand back = Stick in.
Right hand left = Bucket close.
Right hand right = Bucket dump.
Right hand forward = Boom lower.
Right hand back = Boom raise.
Huh? I have operated a John Deere backhoe (real life). The boom is on the left stick. The dipperstick is on the right lever. I don't know the difference between SAE and ISO. I'm guessing John Deere is SAE. EDIT: John Deere is ISO control.
