What controllers?
I notice that the game does not support TrackIR, what about other controllers? I have a Steering wheel with pedals and shifter (Logitech G27), and a HOTAS Joystick (X52), will any of those work?
And is there any reason to bother with them, since the game feels very "arcade" ?

Eh... so much for simulation...
So does that also mean that when you're excavating holes, it will always let you stop after you just poke 3 holes at random and considers that job well done?

I use a Logitech WIngman steering wheel and pedals, and two full-size Logitech Extreme-3D joysticks for excavating, so I wonder what you guys are talking about.
Seriously, if you don't know about something, don't provide false answers.

I have tried every excavator simulator out there, and apart from professional simulatros costing thousands of dollars, CS2015 is the only one with reasonable realism and quality (please don't even mention the horrible "Dig-it!").

Now I don't know about the G27 specifically, I heard that it was not supported because of its non-standard interface. I heard nothing about the X52. I don't have these devices so I can't try them.

An Xbox controller is not recommended, it is not realistic in any way.

No, the game doesn't do that. Anyway, this behavior is not set in the game itself, it is decided by the particular mission's author.
Usually a mission will offer you the chance to stop digging at around 70%, if you choose to continue you must take out 90% of the dirt. On a big excavation that can take 2 hours for a single player. If you don't plan your dig carefully and are not skilled enough you may never complete it.
