!WARNING! This review is completely biased due to author's crazy love to japanese horror games, so don't look at this as something serious and objective.

So as you already understood, Midnight Lane is a japanese psychological horror game. And, god, I like it so much.
Let's start with positive side of the game.
Of course the first thing is the atmosphere. A dark Japan city. What could be better for a midnight walk than this? In general, I like the idea of a vibe walk to your home while being stalked... I mean, for a horror game. Although... Ahem, in my opinion, it's one of the scariest scenario you could ever imagine. As CaseOh would say: you are butt naked, you have no blicky, obviously, going home with thought that you are being chased by some weirdo.
Well, I guess that's all. The jumpscares are not so scary as they could be, due to the goofy appearence of the characters. Seriously, there are a lot of free models that don't look that silly. I don't know why did you choose these. You know, I've never been to Japan, but I definetely can say that people there don't have such big heads. The gameplay is also weak, because all it can give you is walking from A to B, basically. There are some tense parts that I don't want to spoil you, but they are buggy, and I actually don't even know if I got bad or good ending, or if there are different endings at all.
But let me explain my 👍 I set to this game. You know, there are not so many horror games in general, compared to other genres. And good horror games that are not just soulless escape room games that were made without putting effort in it. And when I see such projects that are made with love and enthusiasm in the first place, I can't just say: "Meh, too short to pay for dat, refund". As I said at the beginning, this review has nothing to do with facts and objective true, just my opinion and nothing else. But I guess I did what I should by writing a review, descrbied the game and expressed my feelings about it. I recommend this game.
