Please improve the checkpoint system

For whatever reason the friend and I who got that game together failed to start multiplayer togetherso I am desperately hoping for someone being able to help. Whenever one of us invites the other to play we can see their name appear in a lobby but we never can play together. Anyone an idea on what we are missing? Thanks in advance!...

Controller camera movement is WAY too slow, and I can't seem to find a setting to change it. I'm not about to spend 20 seconds turning the camera around. Also the guidance arrow is not accurate to the pathway, it really should be.
